Force Sergeant Major Victor Martin joined the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force on 27 May 1980 and has served in numerous organizations throughout his illustrious career.
His numerous leadership positions include Section Commander Infantry, Training Wing Instructor, Administrative NCO-Training Wing, Team CommanderSpecial Operations Jungle Team, Team Commander-Special Operations Urban Team, Platoon Sergeant-Infantry, Instructor Jungle Operations Trade Winds ExerciseBelize, Squadron Quartermaster Sergeant, Senior Maintenance NCO, Escort Commander Defence Force Witness Protection Programme, Squadron Sergeant Major, Company Shooting Coach, Defence Force Shooting Team Member, Squadron Sergeant Major, Mortar Platoon Warrant Officer, Logistical Warrant Officer-Port Ivan Hurricane Restoration Operations-Grenada, Regimental Sergeant Major, and Academy Cohort Chief Military Academy.
His military and civilian education includes the Diplomatic Protective Security Operations Course-U.S. State Department, Search Advisors Training Course, Basic Combat Engineers Course, Small Team Jungle Operations Training, Emergency Operations Centre Training, Urban Operations Course-U.S. Special Forces, Waterborne Operations Course-U.S. Special Forces, Basic Demolitions Course, Shooting Coaches Course, Physical Education Trainers Course, Range Officer Practical Shooting Course, Caribbean Senior Leaders Course, and the MP5 Familiarization Training Course with the Heckler and Koch MTT. He holds an Associate Degree in Management for Protective Services and is currently pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Security Administration and Management.
Warrant Officer One Martin’s awards and decorations include the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force General Service Medal, Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force Distinguished Shooters Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, International Students Badge-U.S. Army, Volunteer Service Medal, and the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force Efficiency Medal.
Force Sergeant Major Martin is married to the former Cammie Frederick and is blessed with three sons and two daughters. He enjoys sporting events in the disciplines of marksmanship and other athletics. His hobbies include reading, hiking and fishing.
He is a graduate of the United States Army Sergeants Major Course, Class 57
