Sergeant Major of the Army Boban Stojanovik

Sergeant Major of the Armed Forces Skopje, Republic of Macedonia

Sergeant Major of the Army Boban Stojanovik was born in the city of Skopje, Republic of Macedonia on 12 July 1972. He enlisted in the Army on 1 September 1989 at the Military High school in the Former Yugoslavia. He completed advance individual training at the Technical Military Land Forces School in 1992.

He took over duty as Sergeant Major of the Army of the Republic of Macedonia on 30 December 2006.

Through his military services, he served in variety of enlisted leadership and staff assignments to include : Logistic NCO in border battalion–Bitola (1992-1996), Squad Leader in TRADOC–Skopje (1996-1998), Platoon Leader in TRADOC-Skopje (1998-2001), Aide-de-Camp and Chief of Cabinet to Commandant of TRADOC (2001-2003), Aide-de-Camp to Deputy Chief of General Staff–Skopje(2003-2005 ), Aide-de-Camp to Chief of General Staff of ARM-Skopje (2005-2006), Sergeant Major of the Armed Forces (SMA)-Skopje (2006- Present).

SMA Stojanovik’s  military and civilian education includes  Noncommissioned Officer's Course for key Logistic branch in Bitola (1994 ), NATO School in Germany-NATO Senior NCO orientation course (2006), George Marshall European Center for security study-International Senior NCO seminar (2008), the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (placing in the top 20% of the class), Class 58 at Fort Bliss, Texas (2008). He is currently studying at University St. Cyril and Methodij in Skopje.

He is fluent in Serbo-Croatian and English language.

His awards and decorations include the International Military Student Badge from the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy.

SMA Stojanovik is married to Afrodita and they have two children, daughter, Nastasija, and son, David. The family resides in the city of Skopje, Republic of Macedonia.

He is a Karate master-instructor (III – San) - Dan of karate in black- belt and Macedonian state karate referee.
