SMA MUSA BIN HARON

6th Malaysian Army Regimental Sergeant Major

Warrant Officer 1 Musa bin Haron was born in Malacca on 17 September 1968.  He was raised in Singapore, where he attended Mei Chin Secondary School and graduated with GCE N Level. At age 20, he returned to Malaysia and joined the Army on 4 July 1989 where he completed his Basic Military Training at Army Recruit Training Center, Port Dickson.

He has held various positions throughout his career including Section Rifle Commander, Assistant Platoon Commander, Assistant Officer Tactical Instructor, Drill Instructor, Ceremonial Regional Sergeants Major (RSM) and Training Center RSM.

Throughout his 20-year career, he has served in several units including the 13th Battalion Infantry Royal Malay Regiment, Malaysian Army Combat Training Center, Malaysian Army Management Institute, 1st Battalion Infantry Royal Malay Regiment (Ceremonial) and currently is based at the Malaysian Army Headquarters. He was appointed as the 6th Malaysian Army Regimental Sergeant Major on 7 July 2008.

He has attended many courses to include the Junior Leader Infantry, Basic Brass Band, Section Rifle Commander, Platoon Sergeant Drill and Administration, Platoon Sergeant Infantry, Instructor Development, Company Sergeant Major Drill & Administration, Small Arms Infantry Weapons, Regimental Sergeant Major Drill & Administration, Senior Ranks Leadership Development, United States Air Force Defense Language Institute (DLI), Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas; and the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (USASMA), Fort Bliss, Texas.

He and his wife have 4 children, two girls and twin sons.
