Sergeant Major Lyubomir Kirilov Lambov

Sergeant Major of the Bulgarian Army

Sgt. Maj. Lyubomir Kirilov Lambov is the Sergeant Major of the Bulgarian Army. A Native of Sliven, Bulgaria, Sgt. Maj. Lambov has amassed more than 18 years of service.

He has served in numerous leadership positions including Team Leader, 13th Armored Brigade; Reconnaissance Platoon Sergeant, 13th Armored Brigade; Deputy Platoon Commander, 2nd Armored Battalion, 13th Armored Units Training Center; and Platoon Commander.

Sgt. Maj. Lambov’s service has included many missions abroad including serving as the Engineer Team Leader in Kosovo in 2001; Deputy Platoon Commander in Kosovo in 2004; Infantry Team Leader in Iraq in 2005; Humint Team Leader in Kosovo in 2007; and as the CJ5/7 Staff Sergeant, European Battle Group in Greece in 2008.

His military education includes Military School, NSO Course, Platoon leader Course, Peacekeeping Operations Course, and the Mining-Demining Course. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics and Engineering from the Technical University of Sofia and has a second specialty in Education in Electronics and Mathematics.

Sgt. Maj. Lambov’s awards and decorations include three NATO medals, Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Greece Medal, the First Class Signal Master Ribbon and the award knife from the Bulgarian Minister of Defense.

Sgt. Maj. Lambov is a graduate of the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy, Sergeants Major Course, Class 61.
