Sergeant Major Herman Bahuma

Sergeant Major Herman Bahuma was born on 27 June 1961 in Makopong Village (Kgalagadi District). He was enlisted in the Botswana Defense Force on 2 February 1982. He was appointed to his current position on 1 October 2004.
His military eucation includes the following: Small Arms Instructors Course, Basic Infantry Tactics Instructors Course, Platoon Sergeants Course (Kenya), Warrant Officers and Senior Noncommisioned Officers Course, Basic Special Forces Course, Air Bourne Course, and the US Army Sergeants Major Course.
Sergeant Major Bahuma’s former appointments include: Basic Recruits Instructor, Platoon Sergeant, Special Forces Instructor, Assistant Training Officer Presidential Guard Unit, and Command Sergeant Major. He was the senior enlisted member of the SADC Training Team in Lesotho (Operation Maluti).
He is married and was blessed with two children, a son and daughter, ages 6 and 13.
His hobbies are running and shooting.
