Sergeant Major of the Army, Chief Warrant Officer Ng Siak Ping joined the Singapore Armed Forces as a Commando Fighter in December of 1982 and has served in numerous organizations throughout his illustrious career.

Chief Warrant Officer Ng’s military and civilian education includes the US Ranger Course, Basic Airborne Course, US Pathfinder Course, Military Free Fall Course, and several other professional leadership and development courses.  He has a Diploma in Supervisory Management and attained a Specialist Advanced Diploma in Learning Science.

Chief Warrant Officer Ng’s distinguished list of awards is a testament to the stellar performance in the Singapore Armed Forces.  He received, among others, the State Medal for Efficiency and the Singapore Armed Forces Long Service Award (30 years).

Chief Warrant Officer Ng was appointed as the Sergeant Major of the Army on July 9, 2014.  This is the pinnacle Warrant Officer Appointment in the Singapore Army.  In the course of his military career, Chief Warrant Officer Ng has held various appointments, which include Regimental Sergeant Major of the Specialist and Warrant Officer Institute (SWI), Brigade Sergeant Major of the 23rd Singapore Infantry Brigade and Division Sergeant Major of the 3rd Singapore Division. Chief Warrant Officer Ng is a key figure in steering the development of the Army’s Warrant Officers, Specialists and Enlistees, as well as the Army’s Military Experts.

Chief Warrant Officer Ng is married to Hong Ying. They have a son, Nigel and a daughter, Nicole.

Chief Warrant Officer Ng is a graduate of the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, Sergeants Major Course, Class 55.
