CW4 Andrzej Woltmann

CW4 Andrzej Woltmann was born on November 15, 1974, in Krosno Odrzańskie, Lubuskie Province, Poland. He started military service in the Polish Army in 1993 as a cadet of Warrant Officers School in Legnica, Poland. In 1996, he graduated from the Communications Warrant Officers School. His first assignment was Platoon Sergeant of 4th Lubuska Mechanized Division Headquarters Battalion. Later, he became a Platoon Leader in the same unit. In 2001, he was transferred to the 17th Wielkopolska Mechanized Brigade assigned to the position of Platoon Sergeant in the Training Infantry Battalion, followed by other progressively senior leadership positions.
In 2011, he was nominated as the 17th Wielkopolska Mechanized Brigade Command Sergeant Major. In 2015 he was appointed to the position of the Deputy Commandant of Wielkopolska Land Forces NCO School. In 2016 he was designated to position of the 12th Szczecińska Mechanized Division CSM. He began his current assignment as CSM of the Armed Forces Operational Command in July 2019.
His operational deployments include two deployments in Iraq (2004, Karbala; 2007, Al Kut and Ad Diwaniyah) and one deployment in Afghanistan (2011 – Ghazni Province).
CW4 Woltmann’s military education includes graduation from a wide array of technical and leadership courses. These include the Warrior Leader Course in the 7th Army Noncommissioned Officer Academy (Grafenwöhr, Germany), the Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course at Artillery Training Centre (Toruń, Poland), a Specialist Course at Defense Language Institute (Lackland, Texas, U.S.), the Advanced Leaders Course (Fort Benning, Georgia, U.S.), the Sergeants Major Course at Land Forces’ NCO School (Poznań, Poland), and the Rosomak Fighting Vehicle Leaders Course, He is a graduate of Class 65 of the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy, Fort Bliss, Texas.
His awards and decorations include the Medal of Merit for National Defense (Silver), Medal of the Armed Forces in Service of Fatherland (Silver), The Star of Iraq (twice), The Star of Afghanistan, Medal of the Centenary of Polish Independence, Multinational Division Central-South Commemorative Medal, Honorary Badge of the Land Forces, Non-Article 5 Medal for ISAF, and NCO Development Ribbon (numeral 4). He was 17th Brigade NCO of the year in 2006/2007. In August 14th 2006, he was awarded by special annotation in the Ministry of National Defense Honorable Book for bravery and courage during the mission of the Polish Armed Forces in the Republic of Iraq. In 2016, he received the honored title of Meritorious Soldier of the Republic of Poland (First Class). He was also awarded the “Mace” - a prestigious award of the “Polska Zbrojna” weekly magazine. He has attended every level of the Noncommissioned Officer Education System and is a graduate of University of Security in Poznań, Poland with a bachelor’s degree in National Security and the University of Szczecin with a master's degree in the Security of State Management.
