Command Sergeant Major Andreas Rebane

Command Sergeant Major of P1 Infantry Brigade Estonian Defense Forces

Command Sergeant Major Andreas Rebane was born on 10 May 1976 in Elva, Estonia. He voluntarily joined the Estonian Defense Forces (EDF) in 1994. He has over 24-years of experience as an infantryman. During his career he served in every enlisted leadership position from squad leader to command sergeant major.

CSM Rebane joined the Baltic Battalion in October 1995. He served as a Soldier, Squad Leader, and Platoon Sergeant until June 2001. From June 2001 until May 2012 he served as 1SG and CSM in the Scouts Battalion. He was promoted to his current position as CSM in the 1st Infantry Brigade in 2013. CSM Rebane deployments include UN mission in Lebanon, two SFOR mission in Bosnia, KFOR mission in Kosovo, Operation Iraq Freedom, and Operation Herric in Afghanistan.

CSM Rebane’s awards and decoration include the Gold Gross order of the Gross of the Eagle with swords, Badge of Merits of Estonian Defense Forces, The Army NCO Silver Cross, Commemorative Medal “10 years from the re-establishment of the Estonian Defense Force, Order excellence Gross of Estonian Defense Forces, Peacekeeping Service Medal, Non Article V NATO Medal (ISAF), NATO Medal (KFOR), NATO Medal (SFOR), UN Medal (UNIFIL), Baltic Battalion Service Sign, Scouts Battalion Service Sign, 1st Infantry Brigade Service Sign, Lahingukooli Service Sign.

During his military career he attended various courses including the Basic Military Skills and Leadership Course, Basic UN Duties Course, Basic Infantry Training Course, NCO Course, Basic Infantry Instructor Course, Senior NCO Course, Anti-Tank Tactical Instructor Course (BILL), 1SG Course, and United States Army Sergeant Major Course.

He graduated from Viljandi 4th High School.

CSM Andreas Rebane is married to Katre Rebane and together they have two sons Reio Rebane and Tomy Aleksejev. His recreational interest includes golf, cross-country skiing, and mountain bike race.

Command Sergeant Major Andreas Rebane is a graduate of class 63 of the U.S Army Sergeants Major Course.
