Command Sergeant Major for the Romanian Land Forces
Plutonier adjutant principal Adrian Mateescu is the Senior Enlisted leader (Command Sergeant Major) for the Romanian Land Forces. He began his military career as a conscript in 1989 where he became a sound reconnaissance specialist. In 1991 he continued his career as a Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear personnel decontamination operator.
Plutonier adjutant principal Adrian Mateescu has served in numerous leadership positions throughout his military career including squad leader, deputy platoon leader, Staff NCO for planning and logistics at the Romanian Land Forces Academy, Staff NCO at the Romanian General Staff J5, Staff NCO S3 Operations at the RLF Combat Training Center Getica Cincu, Senior Enlisted Leader of the RLF Combat Training Center Getica Cincu. He was appointed as the Romanian Land Forces Senior Enlisted Leader on December 1, 2015.
Plutonier adjutant principal Mateescu has served in missions abroad supporting Partnership for Peace Programs conducted in Canada, the Netherland and Poland, and as a Senior NCO and Infantry Instructor for the Afghan Kandaks in support of a NATO training mission in Afghanistan.
His military education includes the Nicolae Bălcescu Military Institute for Infantry and CBRN; Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Fort Benning, Georgia; and the Staff Noncommissioned Officer Course at the Application School for Infantry and Mountain Troops, Constantin Brâncoveanu Făgăraş.
Plutonier adjutant principal Adrian Mateescu military awards include the Military Virtue 3rd Class, Honorific Sign For Service to the Nation 15 years, and Honorific Sign For Service to the nation 20 years.
