FORT BLISS, TX – 09 September 2025 – The NCO Leadership Center of Excellence (NCOLCoE) and Sergeants Major Academy (SGM-A) today announced the passing of Dr. Everett Dague, the institution’s resident historian.
Dr. Dague had been a dedicated member of the NCOLCoE team since July 2017, serving as an instructor within the Department of Professional Studies. He was a vital resource for both students and faculty, bringing a wealth of historical knowledge and insight to the curriculum.
“Dr. Dague’s contributions to the Army and, most importantly, to our NCO Corps are immeasurable,” stated a release from NCOLCoE/SGM-A leadership. “His expertise, passion, and friendship touched countless lives throughout his tenure. He will be deeply missed.”
Dr. Dague’s work focused on providing historical context to current military doctrine and leadership principles, emphasizing the importance of understanding past successes and failures to inform future operations. He was widely respected for his dedication to preserving the history of the Noncommissioned Officer Corps and ensuring its lessons were carried forward.
