The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

NCO Guide Update Published – August 19, 2025

Recently updated TC 7-22.7, The NCO Guide has been streamlined and modernized to better equip Army NCOs for current and future challenges. The NCOLCoE condensed the guide from nine to five focused chapters centered on core NCO competencies, reducing costs and improving usability. Key additions include detailed guidance on topics like IPPS-A, Talent Management, and Holistic Health & Fitness, reflecting the evolving Army landscape. A collaborative review process, incorporating feedback from over 15 Army organizations, ensured the revision met the needs of the field. This revised guide remains a vital resource for NCO professional development, reinforcing their critical role as the Army’s operational backbone.
