Sergeant Major of the Lithuanian Land Forces

Command Sergeant Major Zurauskas, was born on 15 July, 1973. He joined the Lithuanian Armed Forces in Motorized Infantry Battalion as a conscript at infantry man position in 1992. 

Sergeant Major of the Land Forces, CSM Osvaldas Zurauskas, was appointed as the Sergeant Major of the Land Forces on 11 of April, 2012 and served until 18 May, 2017.

CSM Osvaldas Zurauskas, has the following awards and decorations: Ministry of Defense Medal for Deployment on International Missions; Lithuanian Armed Forces Medal of Merit; Land Forces Medal for Distinguished Service; Land Forces Medal for Distinguished Service with bronze Pillars of Gediminas, Armed Forces Medal for Outstanding Service; NATO Non-Article V (KFOR) Medal; Honorary Badge of the Motorized Infantry Brigade “Iron Wolf”; NCO Professional Development Ribbon (No.5); Badge of the Recce School “PATROL”; Instructor Badge; Excellent Physical Fitness Badge and the Airborne Jump Badge with One Star.

CSM Zurauskas holds a bachelor’s degree in Defense and Security Institutions Management.

CSM Zurauskas is married to former Miss Lijana Stancelyte. They have three daughters Gabija, Neringa, Nemira and a son Dovydas.

Sergeant Major of the Land Forces CSM Osvaldas Zurauskas is a graduate of Class 68 of the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Course.
