WARRANT OFFICER CLASS ONE OF THE GUYANA DEFENSE FORCE

Sergeant Major Raul Rodney, from the Guyana Defense Force, was born on October 31, 1974 in Georgetown, Guyana, and was raised in Beterverwagting, a small village on the east coast of Demerara Georgetown, Guyana. He enlisted in the Guyana Defense Force on 7 March 1993, and was assigned as an Artillery Gun Operator. His current appointment is as the Guyana Force Sergeant Major. Sergeant Major Raul Rodney has participated in several operations including United Nations mission in Haiti, regional security system in the Caribbean South, and Central America.

His decorations include the Border Defense Medal, Military Efficiency Medal, and 40th anniversary Medal 50th anniversary Medal, and the United Nations Peacekeeping Medal.

Force Sergeant Major Rodney lives in Georgetown, Guyana, South America and has two children, LaToya and Towancey Rodney.

Force Sergeant Major Rodney’s academic education includes a Diploma in Computer Repairs, Diploma in Computer Studies and he is currently pursuing a Degree in Business Management and a Bechelor’s Degree in Leadership and Workforce Development.
