Sgt. Maj. Jeffery Colimon enlisted into the United States Army in 1975 beginning his military career at Fort Dix, New Jersey, where he received his basic combat training. He attended advanced individual training at Fort Polk, Louisiana as an Infantryman before going to airborne school at Fort Benning, Georgia. He served with distinction for 26 years culminating in his assignment as the Sergeant Major for the Training and Doctrine Command’s Deputy Chief of Staff for Education.

While assigned to TRADOC, Sgt. Maj. Colimon worked with Military Occupational Specialty proponents to ensure the Professional Development Modeling was done correctly. This effort ensured all Soldiers had the opportunity to understand and set career goals.

Upon his retirement Sgt. Maj. Colimon began serving as the Learning Integration Division Chief for the Institute for Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development. He has worked on a multitude of NCOES courses. He worked directly with USASMA to develop the Advanced Leader Course Common Core; securing funding, assisting in the courseware development, and traveling all over the United States to ensure the delivery was completed to standard. Sgt. Maj. Colimon is an integral member of the Structured Self Development Team and has been the INCOPD lead for the initiative since its inception.

Sgt. Maj. Colimon also serves as the Program Manager for the Army Career Tracker. He developed the program, facilitated resourcing, and currently manages all activities and support personnel. The ACT, with almost 500,000 users, delivers tailored professional development modeling to all Soldiers and civilians assigned to the Department of the Army. It provides metrics, status, and delivery of associated Distance learning products to include SSD. It provides access to NCOES materials and links to the Army’s reservation system which alerts Soldiers of scheduled NCOES courses. The ACT, an Army program of record, is the Army’s leader development tool.

Additionally, he manages the College of the American Soldier Program, interacting with 40 partner Colleges and Universities of degree programs for enlisted Soldiers. To date, the CAS Program has more than 16,000 graduates of the Enlisted Degree Program and more than 5,000 graduates of the NCO Degree Program.

Sgt. Maj. Colimon is a graduate of Class 47 of the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy. He holds an Associate Degree in Industrial Management and a Bachelors of Science Degree in Information System Management.
